InstaGC Review: Scam or Legit Money Making Site?

InstaGC Review: Scam or Legit Money Making Site?

This post may contain affiliate links, which means I might make a small commission at no additional cost to you.

InstaGC is an online money making site. As always, we’re skeptical of these kinds of sites, so we took a deep dive into the site to see if it was worth your time. Our verdict? Legit site, though it won’t make you rich!

What Is InstaGC?

InstaGc is a site that helps you make an extra bit of cash online. If offers surveys, getting paid to search, and other ways to make money. It’s similar to sites like Swagbucks, MyPoints, and Survey Junkie.

The site was created in 2011 and awarded their 1 millionth gift card by 2017. InstaGC also owns SparkLeads and ProxStop.

InstaGC has 200k likes on FB and 62k Twitter followers.

Users on InstaGC are called InstaGC’ers. Their parent company is called “Day Online Solutions.”

How Do You Make Money On InstaGC?

InstaGC rewards you with money for the following activities:

  • Surveys
  • Figure 8 Tasks
  • Searching the Internet
  • InstaGC offers
  • Trial Offers
  • Clicking Through To Sites
  • Watching Videos
  • Refer Friends

InstaGC Calls

InstaGC calls are pretty unique in the survey and money making sites.

Some of these pay pretty well, but you’ll have to realize what they’re trying to do here.

The company you call pays someone, who pays InstaGC, who ends up paying you to listen to some sales pitch. So, if you’re suseptible to being sold things, you should probably stay away form this section!

Figure 8 Tasks On InstaGC

InstaGC Figure Eight

Figure 8 is an odd section that I haven’t seen on any other survey or money making site.

It kind of reminds me of Amazon Turk, where you do small and short tasks over and over for a small amount of pay each time. These kinds of tasks are ones that computers can’t do, but are simple and cheap for humans to do.

InstaGC EngageMe TV And Pay Per Click

EngageMe TV pays you to watch videos just like the Swagbucks and Mypoints sites do.

Once a week, you get bonus points for watching a minimum number of videos. InstaGC usually posts when these go into your account on Facebook.

InstaGC Video bonus points

You also get paid to click on websites and download apps, which would be considered pay per click. You can exit out of the website and delete the app you’ve downloaded after a while.

Apps pay quite a bit more than clicking and watching TV, so if that’s something you’re ok with, take a look. Be careful about shady looking apps though, so if you want to be extra safe, you can download the apps onto a smartphone that isn’t connected to anything.

InstaGC Offers

InstaGC will pay you to try trial offers.

The trial offers are free, but you need to make sure to cancel your trial before your trial is up. You’ll still get money for the offers even if you cancel.

We’ve cross checked these offers against other sites that have had offers and we do think they’re not as high as Swagbucks, so be sure to cross check before you sign up through either site.

InstaGC Shopping And Cashback

InstaGC offers cashback on shopping, but I’d recommend staying away from this portal and instead using Ebates [$10 bonus] and BeFrugal [$10 Bonus] for online cashback. Check out our other cashback recommendations for grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

InstaGC Search Engine

InstaGC has hidden its search engine due to the arbitrary payouts the site offers. Though you can still use it, check out Bing Rewards and Swagbucks for higher and more consistent payouts.

We tested the search engine on InstaGC out and only got paid out 1 cent after around 15 searched. The Microsoft Bing search engine pays out .5 cents per search up to 50 searches a day and the Swagbucks search engine pays out twice a day from 2SB to 49SB. On average we make 15 SB per day form the Swagbucks engine, with most payouts being of the 8-9SB area.

InstaGC Decimal Pot

If you have a decimal number of points, you’ll be eligible to enter the InstaGC Decimal Pot. There’ll be a random drawing where you can win all the points in the Decimal Pot.

1st Prize – 50 percent of pot

2nd Prize – 35 percent of pot

3rd Prize 15 percent of pot

InstaGC Coupons

InstaGC has coupons on the site but doesn’t pay you for printing them out like Swagbucks and MyPoints does.

InstaGC Sports

InstaGC Sports Tournaments

InstaGC has a sports tab where you can bet on the outcome of a specific kind of pro sport.

You’ll have to give up a few points to enter, but if you find that fun and are okay with saying goodbye to a few points, feel free to take advantage of that.

InstaGC Games

InstaGC Partner Websites

InstaGC has a number of websites they seem to partner with that allow you to make money in an Amazon Turk Manner.

InstaGC Extra Point Codes

If you follow InstaGC on FaceBook or Twitter, you’ll see extra point codes pop up every once in a while.

InstaGC video points

In order to get the extra points, you’ll have to enter the code onto the InstaGC page. They generally tend to expire the day InstaGC posts them, so make sure to enter them in before the InstaGC page expires.

InstaGC gift card points

How does InstaGC Pay Out?

True to its name, InstaGC pays out in gift cards instantly.

Here are some of the best gift cards that InstaGC currently offers:

  • Amazon
  • Best Buy
  • Groupon
  • Starbucks

InstaGC offers 292 different kinds of gift cards.

There are frequent sales on gift cards, so if you were going to spend money on somewhere anyway,

You can now also get paid in cash via Paypal or a Visa prepaid card. Keep in mind that InstaGC takes a small fee from the non-gift card options though, so Amazon might still be your best bet.

InstaGC Payment Options

InstaGC takes 15 cents from a direct deposit, 25 cents from a eCheck, and 20 cents for PayPal.

You can now even redeem points for cryptocurrency! InstaGC currently awards Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

You’ll also have to provide your phone number when you cash out, I assume to avoid multiple accounts per person.

Does InstaGC Have A Referral System?

InstaGC has a referral system, though not as good as some of the other sites.

You only get paid 10 cents per referral, but you do get 10 percent of the lifetime earnings of the person you referred. Your referee must be from:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Note that Swagbucks gives you the same deal, but you get $3 for your friend signing up.

Best InstaGC Hacks & Advice

I’m a big fan of monetizing your life and making life easy for yourself. The most passive way to earn money via InstaGC is letting videos run in the background.

You can also do micro tasks while you’re taking transportation or watching Netflix if you dislike surveys.

How To Sign Up For InstaGC

You get 10 points for free upon sign up with InstaGC. You can sign up via your Facebook, Twitter, or Google account.

Once you complete tasks and earn points, you’ll be able to cash out whenever you reach the minimum cashout status.

InstaGC Pros and Cons

InstaGC Pros

You get to cash out instantly whenever you reach the minimum. True to the InstaGC name, you’ll get your gift card instantly when you redeem.

InstaGC pays you to install apps and are pretty high paying for having an app installed on your phone for 30 seconds before deleting them.

InstaGC Cons

InstaGC doesn’t have the best UI or design, and at times it’ll feel like you’re on a website from the 90s.

The referral bonus for friends isn’t very high at 10 points.

Customer service is pretty slow and consists of blanket responses, so if anything goes wrong, you probably won’t get much help.

Survey, Search Engine, and Making Money Online Tips

Make A Separate Email/Phone Number For These Sites

Some survey and money making sites will send you emails about new opportunities. You don’t want your inbox to become too cluttered, so it’s a good idea to make another email for InstaGC.

To make it easy on yourself, create an email called “[email protected]” so you can remember your survey email easily.

Sometimes sites will call you about offers, so create a Google Voice account that will house all your survey phone calls (which you can just ignore).

Only Do The High Paying And Passive Activities On The Site

Be sure to do the math on how much you’d earn per hour per survey. Don’t just randomly do surveys, make sure you are earning an hourly you are ok with.

You can also just do the passive activities such as using InstaGC’s video watching section in the background on mute, so you wouldn’t even notice it.

Open One Account Per Household IP Address

A lot of survey sites use fraud detection software to check if you have multiple accounts. Some of them check if there are multiple accounts using the same IP address.

Each computer in a household will have the same IP address so the fraud software might flag you for multiple accounts if someone else in your household has an account as well. You can differentiate the devices in your network with sub-IPs, but InstaGC cannot tell if different people are using these sub-IPs.

Don’t Expect To Get Rich From Survey Sites

There are scammy sites out there that will say you can make a full-time income just from survey sites, but that’s not true. Survey sites and sites that pay you to make money are great for a small amount of supplemental extra income, but don’t expect to get rich from InstaGC.

Don’t quit your day job to do survey sites, it won’t work! Remember, survey sites are for extra income, not to replace your full-time income.
