Ipsos I-Say Review: Is It Legit Or A Scam?
Ipsos I-Say is a part of Ipsos, one of the largest polling companies in the world. They’re one of the legit survey sites.
You frequently see Reuters, one of the largest financial media outlets, quoting an Ipsos poll in their article. Reuters contracts out polling to Ispos, which means you get paid to do surveys while Reuters pays them.
Ipsos I-say has over 3 million members on the platform. The polling company is powered by Ipsos, founded in 1975.
The website is easy to use and you get paid in points, which you can redeem for gift cards and other things.
What Is Ipsos I-Say? Who Can Join?
Ipsos I-Say is a survey company that pays you to make money so they can collect data for companies in aggregate.
The Ipsos parent company was started in 1975 by Didier Truchot. Ipsos seems very similar to Nielsen, the company that comes out with all the television ratings and other market data. Ipsos just seems to do it for political and economic surveys and polls. They have offices in 88 countries across the world, with nearly 20,000 employees. Their revenues are approximately €2 Billion per year.
The site is completely free to use. You need to be 18 years or older from the US, UK, or Canada in order to join.
Once you sign up, you’ll have to confirm your email. You get 10 points for finishing your profile, which takes about 2 minutes. If you don’t finish your profile, you won’t see any surveys, so be sure to fill out your profile!
New members are automatically entered into the $1,000 New Member cash drawing.
There are reports online of people not being able to sign up during times when registration is closed. If that happens, just bookmark the site and wait until it opens back up again.
Once you reach the screen below, make sure to finish the starting survey so that you can get surveys. You get 10 points just for the initial profile completion survey.
How Do You Earn Points With Ipsos I-Say?
Similar to SwagBucks, 100 Ipsos I-Say points are worth $1. Points never expire unless you chose to deactivate your account or your account doesn’t show any activity for 45 days.
Ipsos offers surveys for points, which you can then convert to gift cards and other merchandise.
When you log in, you can see all the surveys that you qualify for.
You won’t qualify for every survey, but when you do, you can earn between 45 to 150 points per survey. Some of the best surveys I’ve seen are 45 Ipsos I-Say points for 2 minutes. If you don’t qualify for a survey, you’ll still earn 5 points for trying. The welcome survey that is about 2 minutes long paying 10 points.
If you chose, you can get an Ipsos I-Say alert every time new surveys come out that you might be qualified for.
The website says you only get around 8 a month but I definitely saw more than 8 different ones every day. I’m assuming they wrote it back when surveys were much less frequent.
Ipsos I-say offers a mobile app, but only after you have qualified for a mobile survey.
They have apps for Ios and Android, so whatever phone you have, the app should work for you.
There’s a section in Ipsos I-say that has is called polls, where you simply choose an answer, usually yes or no.
You then guess what percentage of people answer yes to the poll. You don’t get points here, but you get chances to win Ipsos’s I-Say prize draws.
Ipsos I-Say Loyalty Program Bonus Points
This is the only survey company to offer such an interesting bonus structure. Ipsos I-Say offers a nice bonus loyalty structure. Unlike other sites, you get bonus points for answering the below number of surveys in a year.
For example, when you answer 5 surveys in a year, you’ll get an extra 25 bonus loyalty points. When you finish answering 100 surveys, you’ll get an extra 300 bonus points and so forth. The highest amount of bonus points you can get is 600 after you answer 200 surveys in a year.
These bonus loyalty points are for the calendar year, not since your start date.
|Number of surveys||Bonus loyalty points|
What Rewards Do Ipsos I Say Offer?
Ipsos I-say offers gift cards, Paypal, and charitable gifts.
The minimum redemption is 500 points, which is pretty low for survey sites. If you do surveys for a bit and decide you don’t like it, you can cash out at a low amount and still get the money you’ve worked hard for.
For gift cards, you get them instantaneously.
I’m not sure why the Paypal redemption takes a week, but Ipsos I-Say does offer Paypal. However, you need 1530 Ipsos I-Say points to redeem $15 for Paypal. The Paypal minimum is $10, while the other redemptions are $5. You get a discount if you decide to redeem for $100, because that’s only 9,600 Ipsos I-Say points.
If you’re looking for survey sites that give automatic payments, here are some below that pay instantly via PayPal.
Lastly, you can also choose to get a check, but you’re going to have to wait 3-4 weeks for that.
You can also choose to donate your money towards charity. These are the charities:
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross
- Big Brother And Sisters
- Doctors Without Borders
- Habitat For Humanity
- Nature Conservancy
- Ronald McDonald House
- Trees For The Future
The minimum donations range from $5-$10 depending on which charity it is. See below.
Ipsos I-Say also offer merchandise in their shop, but you need 1,000 points minimum in order to shop there. Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like. They had major appliance brands, Vera Bradley, and a ton of other name-brands. They also offer movie tickets and music downloads.
Ipsos I Say Sweestakes
You can also use 250 Ipsos I-Say points for entering a sweepstakes to win gift cards or travel, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
There are quick draws every 4 months where 10 panelists will win 5,000 Ipsos I-Say points each.
Every other week there is a prize draw for the poll system. Answer a poll, then try to guess how the results will play out. The closer you get, the more chances you’ll get.
Every order you redeem for on Ipsos I-Say gets you a chance to win $1,000.
There are two other temporary programs: Exchange of Education and Sizzlin’ Summer Sweeps. Both cost 200 Ipsos I-Say points to win $5,000 for the Exchange For Education and fun summer prizes for the later.
Using your hard earned points to enter a survey isn’t worth it, in my opinion. You are highly unlikely to win. This is essentially like entering the lottery. I’d highly recommend you simply wait to redeem your Ipsos I-Say points for Paypal or gift cards at the very least.
Ipsos I Say Referral Program
You can refer friends to Ipsos I-Say through email, but they don’t give you a referral link straightaway like other sites do.
However, you can send an email to yourself and then just copy and paste the link to your friends and it should work fine.
For each friend or family member you refer, you get 100 Ipsos I-Say points.
Ipsos I-Say Pros and Cons
Ipsos I-Say Pros
The site tells you the amount of points you get per survey and how long it’ll take so you can judge whether a survey is worth your time or not.
Ipsos I-Say allows you to redeem points via Paypal and check. They also offer gift cards, but cash is king, right?
Some people say they qualify for the majority of surveys, while others don’t see many. It all depends on who Ipsos I-Say is looking for in their demographic.
Ipsos I-Say Cons
Some report that they don’t get many surveys, but others report getting a ton. This is pretty normal amongst survey sites because each site is looking for a demographic, and it’s difficult to say what demographic they’re looking for because it changes from time to time. Best thing to do would be to sign up and check back from time to time.
Survey sites aren’t the highest paying, but if you want to sit on your couch, watch Netflix and make some extra cash, some dollars are better than none.
Last Tips For Ipsos I-Say Pros and Cons
When signing up for survey sites, you have to understand that not all of them will be looking for your demographic. Your best bet is to sign up for a bunch and track which are giving you good, high-paying surveys. If a site is not good for you after a while, move on and keep your list of sites that are great for you.
Overall, Ipsos I-Say is legit, you just have to decide if the pay is worth it for you. You’re absolutely not going to get rich from taking surveys, but if you need an extra source of easy income, it works.
