Bing Rewards: Scam Or Legit For Making Extra Money?

We love Bing Rewards for their easy way of getting Amazon gift cards. I’m a huge fan of monetizing your life and Bing Rewards does just that. It pays you when you use the search engine! Google doesn’t pay you to use your search engine, but Microsoft does through their Bing Rewards program.

What Is Bing Rewards?

Bing Rewards is a rewards program from Microsoft that pays you to use their search engine.

Bing Rewards pays you in points, which you can then redeem for gift cards, cash, and other rewards.

The reason Microsoft can pay you through their Bing Rewards program is that advertisers pay them. They also want to pay you so that you start to get familiar with the Microsoft Bing search engine and keep using it to gain market share over Google. In the US, they control market share percentage in the low 20s and Bing Rewards is one of their ways to increase that.

Bing Rewards currently works in the US and UK and is 13 or older.

Is Bing Rewards Legit Or A Scam?

Bing Rewards is from Microsoft, one of the largest technology companies out there. You can rest assured that Microsoft Rewards is not a scam and a legit program to use to earn some extra cash.

Bing Rewards pays out with whatever reward you choose to redeem. There aren’t any limitations on the number of times you can redeem, either.

Pro Tip: SwagBucks also pays you to use their search engine. Once you hit your daily max on Microsoft Rewards through Bing, switch your search engine usage to SwagBucks.

They have $20 in sign up bonuses through this link. $5 for signing up, $10 for using their shopping portal, and $5 for their local cashback program.

How Much Can You Earn With Bing Rewards?

You can earn 80 points at least, per day on Level 1. You can get 5 points for up to 10 searches and at least 30 points for the daily activity set, for a total of 80 points at least.

Once you get to Level 2, which you can reach after earning 500 points in a month, you can

What Are The Bing Rewards Levels And How Do You Level Up?

Bing Rewards has 2 levels.

Bing Rewards level 1

You start out in level 1 and move up to level 2 when you get more points. In Level 1, you get 5 points per Bing Rewards search, up to 50 points per day. This means 1,500 points per month for searching. At level 1, earning a $5 gift card per month would be on the top end of your reward.

It’s not hard to get to Level 2. You only need to get 500 points per month before you get to Level 2.

Bing rewards level 2

You get to level 2 when you reach 500 points. At level 2, you’ll get a 10 percent discount when redeeming for any rewards in Bing Rewards. You’ll also be able to gain more points at an accelerated level.

You’ll get to earn at least 250 Bing Rewards points each day from searching. Since you get 5 points per Bing search, you need to search 50 times per day to reach the max.

This means you’ll get 7,500 points just from searches. Top that off with the 30 minimum points per day for completing the activity set, the 45 bonus points for a 3-day streak, and other random activities, you can get north of 10,000 Bing Rewards per month and $120 per year.

How to Earn Bing Rewards Points?

Bing Rewards Streak Bonus

Bing rewards streak bonus

You get more Bing Rewards if you do your daily set of activities a few days in a row.

Here’s an example of what a 3-day streak bonus will get you: 45 extra points.

Bing Rewards Daily Set

A daily set consists of 3 activities for you to do to gain at least 30 extra points. There should be a search click, a quick, and a daily poll every day for you to do.

Here’s an example of a day where you get 100 extra Bing Rewards points.

The Test Your Smarts activity usually goes two ways:

Bing rewards news quiz

1). You answer a quiz question. Don’t fear, you can keep picking choices until you get it right, so you don’t have to waste time searching for the answer. You still get all the points even if you don’t get the correct answer.

Bing Rewards Order

2). You might have to organize a set of things into a certain order. You can just move them around until they turn green and are in the right slot. They’ll get a red border if it’s incorrect. You can simply keep moving the things around until you finish. You don’t need to search for the answer.

Bing Rewards More Activities

Bing Rewards more activities

You’ll see a couple more activities you can do for a few more points. They don’t take more than a minute and you’ll get payouts of 30-100 points for a minute or so of your time, so you can rack up a couple hundred of points.

These reset every few days so check back.

Shopping For Microsoft Bing Rewards

You get $1 point for every $1 you spend at the Windows, Xbox, and Microsoft stores. However, this isn’t a very great rate. There are better cash back apps and sites out there.

Bing Rewards Family Earning

Bing rewards redeem more with family

You can ask your family members to join Bing and see where they are on the dashboard. You might get bonus Bing Rewards for them joining.

Bing Rewards Referral Program

Unfortunately, Bing Rewards doesn’t have a referral program currently.

In the past, Bing Rewards has rewarded members for referring their friends, but they currently do not have such a program.

When looking at their support forums, it seems they might return the referral in the future. I’m guessing they have so many users already that word of mouth just gets around naturally to join Bing Rewards.

How Do You Redeem Bing Rewards?

You can redeem Bing Rewards for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, donations to charity, and special Microsoft-based prizes.

We think the best choice of redemption here is Amazon gift cards for 5,000 points for $5.

What Gift Cards Can You Redeem At Bing Rewards?

Bing Rewards offers a ton of gift cards you can redeem. You can’t redeem your Bing Rewards for Paypal, so the best choice is to redeem for Amazon. Everyone buys a ton of stuff on Amazon anyway, so that’s basically as good as cash!

Here they are below:

  • Amazon
  • Microsoft
  • Xbox
  • Skype
  • Starbucks
  • Burger King
  • AMC Theatres
  • Hulu
  • Chipotle
  • Walmart

Here they are below:

  • Xbox Live Gold Memberships
  • Xbox Game Pass

Bing Rewards Sweepstakes

bing rewards sweepstakes entries

This is one we don’t suggest you enter because you’re just gambling away your points. All the sweepstakes are located at the top of the rewards page. We think this is because some people will stop scrolling after they see a few sweepstakes and think it’s just sweepstakes prizes.

How Can You See Your Bing Rewards?

You can install the Bing Bar to see your point at all time or you can simply go to bing.com and look in the upper right-hand corner.

You can also see the full breakdown in the Bing Rewards dashboard.

What Is The Difference Between Bing And Microsoft Rewards?

Bing Rewards used to be called Microsoft Rewards. The Bing Rewards points used to be called credits, but are now called points. 1 Microsoft Reward is now with 10 Bing Rewards points.

Bing Rewards Pros And Cons

Overall, Bing Rewards is a simple way to get paid to use a search engine — something you’re already doing! It doesn’t take much time and a small amount of extra money each month is always awesome for doing something you were going to do anyways. Pair that with searching on Swagbucks after you’re done for the day and you’ll get close to an extra $15 per month just for using search engines.

Bing Rewards Pros

Bing Rewards is super easy to use and pays you for doing something you’re already doing.

It’s easy to get paid in Amazon gift cards but there are also great deals on Microsoft specific gift cards (up to 30 percent off) in case you spend money on those things.

Bing Rewards Cons

Sometimes the Bing search engine is a little different than Google, but overall they’re pretty close. You’ll still get the answer to whatever question or topic you’re trying to find out about.

The real con is that there isn’t a PayPal option. We think Amazon gift cards are pretty close to cash, but if you don’t spend money at Amazon either that might not be the best option. You could consider reselling the Amazon gift cards or one of the gift cards at the other well-known retailers above.
